May 29th, 2009 - Studio
So I am the lucky winner to record first in the studio. Unless the song is acoustic, drums go first. I like recording because the studio is a whole different world than playing live gigs. The studio is is fun but can give you a headache because we can end up listening to same 5 seconds of a song 50 times to get that section right. Now getting a section "right" or sounding good is all a matter of opinion. Not that we fight over sections but there is no "right" way in the studio. Listen to a Bob Marley record, a Metallica record, and then a Jay-Z record. The production sounds great on each record but totally different. Anyways, the songs are sounding really good and hopefully will be on your favorite radio stations in the near future.

May 1st, 2009 - Golf!!!
I just went to play golf and it was a beautiful day out side (somewhere in the mid 80s). I love to play but I get soooo angry when I hit a bad shot. I don't understand how you can hit a great shot and then the next shot goes into the trees or mishit into a bunker. Jackie and I were playing at Northwest which is a pretty nice golf course that is local to us. On one hole, I hit a great drive, about 275 straight down the middle..........the next shot was about 135 to the hole. Guess where I hit it???? I shanked my pitching wedge into the crap!! I was so mad. I ended up with a bogey on the hole but should of had at least a par. Oh well. At least I got to play golf while most people were working. I shot pretty good for the first time out this year. If I actually played more than 2 times a month.....I think I would be pretty decent at this game. Hopefully the record deal will make us a little money so I can play more.

February 12th, 2009 - Better Than Ezra Show
So the show was cool and Ezra got paid a sick amount of money, which they deserved. The band had roadies which is cool and all they really had to do was sound check, eat diner, play, and then roll out. Maybe they could have at least acknowledged that our band was opening for them. Whatever, the drummer did watch a couple songs and said hi after the show. The drummer actually plays with the country act Sugarland when they are on tour. Pretty COOL! I had a good time and "IT WAS GOOD PLAYING WITH YOU UH-HUH!!!" The band did play all the hits and the highlight of their show was the cowbell player that was brought on stage. It would be cool to open for more big acts and steal their fans..... OH yeah that is Pat and part of the Berlin Wall!!! Check out the pics.

January 26th, 2009 - Donnie's word of the week! GNARLY
So with the Winter X Games on right now I thought that I would pick out a word that extreme X gamers would use. So if you want to be in with the Super Pipe Snowboarders like Shaun White, this is a good word to use.

1. GNARLY
A phrase that non Southern Californians usually east coasters think is only something people say in the movies, when in fact we use it all the time, along with awesome, stoked and rad. Mostly a coastal term, but also used in the inland empire aka the land of the dirt people.

It describes an impressive event whether it be positive or negative. "That crash was gnarly dude!"

"I'm so stoked for the party tonight! It's gonna be gnarly!" Some other cool words Wicked, rad, cool, awesome, sick, insane, socal, surfer

January 9th, 2009 - 9:30 Club: Washington DC
So we found out about the 9:30 show 4 days before we played..........Of course we took the date because 9:30 is the best venue in the country! First of all the club knows how to treat a band, no matter how big, the right way. When we got to the club there were are 2 to 6 loaders to help carry equipment to the stage. We just rolled everything right onto the stage and took it out of the cases. The cool part about when you get to the club is that they are ready for you when you get there and pizza and drinks are waiting for the crew and band members.

All of the 9:30 staff helps you set up and put the cases away. The staff helps place microphones and helps solve any issues that you might have during sound check. GUS and MIKEY light are awesome. Gus is the main sound-man and Mikey light is the lighting guy. By the way the sound and lights were great that night. The show was cool and I appreciate everyone who came out last minute. Oh yeah, I found out that there is a bar under the club. We hung out after the show with Mikey and his wifey.

December 29th, 2008 - Chris vs Me
The bet: Whether or not Phil and Beth were pregnant. We bet back in October sometime. If they didn't announce by Lloyd Day then I would win.

Chris: YES she is
Donnie: No she is not
The Outcome: Obviously, Beth was pregnant.
Payment: Sakura diner and drinks.

So I lost.......Phil is having a boy. I knew I was going to lose just because Phil was acting a little funny leading up to Lloyd Day. Then he announced they were pregnant. Here are some pics from the Japanese Steakhouse.

December 26th, 2008 - Spoiled
So I got spoiled on Christmas.........Santa was good to me! I got a fancy new Canon EOS Rebel XS camera with 2 different lenses from the wifey. I love it and have been playing with it all day. I got a new cook book from Mom and Dad because I am the only one who cooks in the house, well at least most of the time. Now I can cook something different even if they might be scared of what I'm making. I also got a new GPS from Nana and Pop-Pop. Jackie and I don't ever have a clue on how to get anywhere so this was prefect. I was spoiled but not as much as COLE. He has a Wii addiction and got 4 new games. He also got cloths, a car wash, cooking utensils, airplane, and an easel to make masterpieces. He was a little worn out as you can tell from the pictures. Check out some of my pictures from Christmas and Hanukkah..........We go both ways.

December 21st, 2008 - Redskins Game: Landover, MD
This game was great but it was too bad that it had no playoff implication. Skins already blew there shot last week at Cincinnati. Oh well, at least Philly won't make the playoffs either (sorry Pat)..........unless a miracle happens next week. Redskins won the game 10-3. Philly had a shot on the last drive but fell a foot short and ran out of time. This was the last home game for the Skins and we had a great time. We actually sat in lower seats than the normal because one of Jackie's co-workers had extra tix. We normally sit in the upper deck. I like sitting up high because you can see the plays develop better than down low and yell when Campbell doesn't hit the open man. I like analyzing the plays. Going to the games is fun especially after a few beverages. Oh yeah those are Jell-O Shots, yummy.
